Hearth and Stone Work

Fireplace Hearth. Black on black precast concrete hearth. Local hand picked river rock fireplace face with painted MDF mantle and built in cabinets.

Yellow Vanity Sink. Dark black concrete countertop with small light gray and white speckles. Features a cast iron and enamel vessel sink.

Countertops

Concrete kitchen countertop in shades of gray, white, and black with embedded stainles steel fork pieces and undermounted sink.

Kitchens

Kitchen Center Island. Mottled gray and black concrete surround with small, round stainless steel accents along the front edge. Poured in place into the end grain butcher block kitchen center island. Features a cast iron, black enamel undermount sink.

Star Patio

Solutions

This planter replaced a wooden handrail leading up to the stairs. Cast in place in one piece with irrigation and drainage that enter and exit underground in the back. Nevada City, California.

Outdoor Art

Black concrete obelisk with steel top. Obelisk is hollow and the interior coated with reflective paint. A large halogen light fixture is mounted in the interior and light escapes through the multiple one inch holes in the exterior. Approximately 8 feet high.
This four pointed star measures 55 inches from tip to tip and is composed of four separate concrete tiles. The ground and polished tiles feature black dripped concrete on a light gray background; no sealer applied. A four inch, stainless steel piece is set in the center.

Zen Garden

A Japanese Zen Garden designed as a quiet, contemplative place. The local moss rocks are placed to be reminiscent of islands at sea. The patio and border are black concrete. Features two large, flat rocks which serve as steps and transitions from patio to border. The rocks were ground and drilled with rebar added to assure the transition from concrete to rocks remains stable. The Zen Garden is approximately 14 feet square. Nevada City, California.

Fire Pit

Creating a usable space on a sloping hill involves cutting, filling and terracing. Moss rock boulders are used as retaining walls, for a natural look. A poured-in-place concrete fire ring is the centerpiece of this area and is approximately seven feet in diameter. Nevada City

Copper & Concrete Fountain

This fountain is cast of a light, natural looking green concrete with thousands of copper pieces cast in place in precise lines. The ends of the patinaed copper pieces have each been individually melted to produce friendlier tips. Water comes up the center from a pump concealed in the interior. The thousands of drips create a pleasant sound. Measures approximately 28 inches by 27 inches by 32 inches. Nevada City, California.

UC Davis Arboretum

Located in the arboretum on the UC Davis campus, this arrangement of seat walls, stairs, fountain and small pool, was poured in a single pour. The buff color is complemented with a light, sandblasted finish and goes well with the decomposed granite center area. Copper plaques engraved with the names of various donors are placed along the back. Approximately 40 feet in diameter.
